Fire destroyed Russian Airport near Krasnoyarsk
Visitors flying to Russia these days should be aware that large fire destroyed Krasnoyarsks Cheremshanka Airport.
The terminal building burned down and air traffic control tower collapsed. No passengers were in the terminal building and no injuries were reported. The reason for the fire is still under investigation, but authorities suspect that an electrical circuit on the roof of the terminal building caused the fire.
Cheremshanka Airport is the secondary Krasnoyarsk airport and Krasnoyarsks primary airport Yemelyanovo International Airport was not affected by the incident. Yemelyanovo International Airport already reported to take over all flights from and to Russian Cheremshanka Airport in order to limit disruption to air traffic.
