Russian Airline to buy 4 Airbus A380 jets
In Moscow yesterday was announce that Transaero, Russia's second-largest airline, has agreed to buy four Airbus A380 jets, becoming the first carrier in the ex-Soviet Union and Eastern Europe to order the world's biggest passenger jet.
The A380 will meet the needs of the growing Russian market as passengers that fly to Russia is expected to increase at an average rate of 5.6 per cent per year over the next 20 years. European aviation giant Airbus has revealed a provisional deal to sell four A380 aircraft to Transaero, making the carrier the first Russian operator of the super jumbo.
The second largest carrier in Russia will also become only the second to opt for a high-density seating configuration, carrying as many as 700 passengers on long-haul flights.
